Merry Christmas to all…

Evelyn’s first Christmas was so much fun! It was the first year Sophia could really understand what was going on and what Christmas was all about. Unfortunately, when I tried talking to her about Jesus on Christmas Eve she wanted to part of it and only wanted to talk about Santa. Something to work on this year, I think! Thankfully on our way to church, I got her to at least “get” that it was Jesus’ birthday.
Despite that, we did put a plate of cookies out for Santa to eat. One of my favorite childhood memories was choosing which cookies we would leave out for Santa, so we did the same with Sophia.
We put out all the choices, she filled a plate, and we left it out…until she went to bed and then we loaded them back into the containers. :)
It is so much fun to be the mom on Christmas Eve! It was especially fun this year, since Sophia knew that there would be something waiting for her when she woke up, so getting it all ready for her was that much more exciting.
Guess who LOVES Christmas?!
Stockings were fun, and Sophia was lucky enough to open two Christmas morning – one from Grandma D, and one from Mommy and Daddy, and finished off by Grandma B.
She’s a really smiley baby anyway, but anytime I said “Merry Christmas” Evelyn grinned from ear to ear!
I tried EVERYTHING I could do get a good picture of the two girls together. Sophia was in quite the “mood” all day, so it wasn’t easy and we weren’t exactly successful, but these will have to do. Here are the best we could muster:
Merry Christmas!!
