Welcome Home

We came home Sunday evening…it’s hard to believe after all of the very loooong waiting of pregnancy, we’ve already had the baby and have been home for a few days. Some of the pictures of Evelyn getting ready to leave the hospital look a lot like those of Sophia doing the same – you can see that here if you’re interested.
She’s not a fan of getting dressed yet, so there was a little drama.
But, once she was cozy, all was right with the world.
I just love her little hat. $4.50 on clearance at Gap…can’t get much better than that. Unfortunately, just as with Sophia, we won’t get a lot of use out of her coming home hat, at least not for now. With S, we bought a cute newborn hat and had her name put on it, and then it was pretty much too small from the start so it was cute, but useless. I guess we aren’t great at buying baby hats, because the one we bought for Evelyn is so big that it could be until winter before it fits properly. Oh well…cute for the picture. :)
She did great in the carseat, but only because we were waiting so long for someone to walk us out of the hospital that she had a chance to eat first. We’ve since discovered that she’s N-O-T a fan of her carseat. At all.
Baby’s first Target trip! We stopped on our way home to grab a few things. She’s already had another since then, with big sister along too.
Sophia was pretty excited to see the baby at home. She was equally excited to play with the buckles in the baby’s carseat.
She did such a good job holding her. In fact, she likes to hold her so much that she sometimes gets mad when someone else is holding her instead. Poor Grandma even got hit this week because she was holding Evelyn when Sophia wanted to. Our sweet toddler has gotten a few time outs this week. :)
And this is how things looked by the end of the night. By the time we got to the top of the stairs, I was crying too. It’s going to be an interesting transition, but we’re getting there a little at a time.
Today, we are taking a family trip to the downtown farmer’s market and a ride on the light rail, just for fun. Rest assured, there will be pictures!
