The 500 names of Evelyn Anne

Naming Evelyn was no picnic. If you’ve been following us through this pregnancy, you already know this.
We both love older names, and I wanted one with three syllables that sounded nice with Sophia. We went through SO many names, and, for the most part, we lingered on Evelyn and two others for the last couple months of my pregnancy. We both have always loved the name, but what you may not know is that we've had an Evelyn in our family for just over six years.
That was actually my biggest hang-up. The second of my sweet nanny kiddos, Evie has always had a special place in my heart. I was privileged to meet her on the day of her birth and have loved her ever since. She has not only endeared me to the name Evelyn, but having her as a part of our extended family was what made it so difficult to name our baby Evelyn.
We actually named her Evelyn “officially” at least once or twice before the final decision (along with about six other “official” names), but I kept wavering and wasn't sure about it. I liked it better than the other choice and knew I would be happiest with it in the long term. I was afraid that it would be a little weird for me, but in the end, and with a lot of convincing from Dan, we knew it was our sweet baby's name. Talk about crunch time…we named her about 36 hrs. before she arrived!
I love it and it's perfect. Besides, Evie is an Evie, and for now Evelyn is Evelyn. I can see us calling her Evie eventually, but we’ll have to wait and see if it fits her.
It's also best, for now, for her to remain Evelyn for Sophia's sake. She ADORES TC, Evie and Davis and at her age, I think she would be a bit confused if we started calling her baby sister by the name of another child she already loves.
We can't wait for the two Evelyns to meet! Evie has said from the beginning that there was a very special baby in my tummy and I know she was right. She'd been patiently waiting to hear baby's name and we hear she was thrilled when she found out. It will be so fun to have her meet the tiny Evelyn!
Her middle name is Anne after my grandmother, which is also my my middle name. I love that (if you use my formal name), we have the same initials and our names look so close on paper.
Thank goodness we no longer have to think about what to name this sweet child…because THAT was the hard part, right? the rest should be a piece of cake...T

Love the name choice...can you give us a hint as to some of the other 499 names up for consideration? I look back at some of our recent "potentials" and just laugh now. In hindsight they just never fit-ha ha Welcome home baby Evelyn!
