What’s in a name?

Um…a LOT actually.

Ten weeks to go and baby still has no official  name.  Well, not today anyway.  She’s “officially” been named at LEAST two or three times.  I’ve said, “Yes, I think that’s it,” and then taken it back the next morning.  Dan is ready to wring my neck, I’m sure.  I blame him, actually.  He’s being too accommodating to my choices.  I start placing a name he likes on the babe and envisioning her with that name and then he comes back saying that my [current] top choice sounds great.  By then, I’ve moved on from whatever that name was and I’m again confused.

At least we have a middle name…well, kind of.  There are two – the one we pick will depend on the first name we choose.  Whichever sounds best in combination is it.  However, it seems a first name is more important – I’m sure she could do without a middle name, but we can’t call her The Baby forever.

As of now, in my head at least, there are two top contenders.  One sounds absolutely adorable when Sophia says it, but is that really a good way to choose a child’s name?  After all, no matter what we choose, it won’t sound adorable when she’s screaming it years later because Baby Girl Z broke her favorite toy.

Poor nameless baby…
